This painting was inspired by a vision in which I saw a native woman who was a weaver. An appaloosa mare was her guide and companion. In each rug or tapestry she wove a strand of her horse’s hair. The rugs were the warp and weft of life, and the prayers in her rugs came true.
When she grew old she climbed onto the back of her horse and rode into the desert. There they blended as one and ascended into another dimension.
