“Mirage” is an inspiration that happened when I saw a photograph of rippled waves of windswept sand. I dreamt of ancient horse herds running across a primordial prairie long ago… their spirits but a whisper on the wind. The fascinating thing about this painting is that when you stand far enough away from it, the horses disappear altogether…
