THE STORY BEHIND THE ART
Usually when I create paintings in my Horses in the Elements Series, I look for natural formations that are shaped like horses. “Bonfire” is unique in that I didn’t start with a planned composition, but rather the horses revealed themselves in the patterns of the flames as I drew them. The title, “Bonfire” is meant convey that these horse spirits are reveling in a an alchemical celebration of the beneficial and creative expression of fire.
