THE STORY BEHIND THE ART
I chose to paint this wave because I saw horses in the rainbows. But I couldn’t seem to find any horses in the breaking wave. I then realized that the shapes in the wave were actually buffalo – and thence began a quest to find other animals to create a Native American theme. I looked and looked for a face I knew must somehow be there, but he didn’t reveal himself to me until I began looking for a profile. My mom found the eagle where I had almost placed a horse. Then I knew my quest was complete.
