  • THE STORY BEHIND THE ART

    I started this piece with an emerald green background. The mood seemed sad at first, but then I began to feel like the horse came from the Emerald City in the Wizard of Oz - on the other side of the rainbow where transformation can happen. Then I realized the horse itself could be the rainbow, and thus it became an image of serenity. ~ Kim McElroy
