About the Art
We often forget that horses can smile. In 'Coquettish’ my pastels reveal the mischievous nature of this horse. Horses know we admire them and long to be near, and they will allow us that closeness for brief moments, but in the next moment they will often trot off to the far end of the field saying, “Catch me if you can!” If we embrace this opportunity to play and discover the wilder nature of horses, they remind us to reclaim our childer nature.
